1 tblsp. clarified butter (ghee)
1/2 tsp. coriander seeds
oil for deep frying
a pinch baking powder
2 cup coriander leaves chopped
1 tsp. red chilli powder.
1 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. turmeric powder
2 cup bengal gram flour (besan)
4 curry leaves
salt to taste
1 tsp. red chilli powder
1/4 tsp. cumin seeds
2 cup yogurt
1 tsp. green chillies chopped

Making Marwadi Gatta Kadhi :

  • Add gram flour with baking powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.
  • Mix in water at small quantities at a time to make hard dough.
  • Knead well, let the dough rest for 10 minutes and then cut into four equal parts, roll them in round shape and boil them in salted water till they get cooked.
  • Remove and slice them into small pieces.
  • Deep-fry these pieces in hot oil till they get golden brown.
  • Remove and keep it on the side.
  • Mix remaining gram flour with curd carefully.
  • Warm up ghee, mix in coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and green chilies, and curry leaves and sauté for a moment.
  • Mix in gram flour and curd mixture, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and sauté on low heat, stirring constantly, for a few minutes.
  • Pour in water, adjust salt and cook until it becomes medium thick consistency.
  • Add in fried gatte, bring to a boil, garnish with cut green coriander leaves and serve hot.
