Khoya Peda


1/2 kg Soft white khoya(milk solids)
2-1/2 cups (approx.300gms) sugar powdered
1/2 tsp. cardamom powder
1 tsp. cardamom seeds semi crushed
1 tbsp. slivered or crushed pistachios

How to make peda:

  • Grate khoya (milk solids) with a grater. Add crushed sugar and mix well.
  • Put mixture in a large pan.
  • Heat the pan on high flame for few minutes, then reduce the flame put it on slow.
  • Make sure to stir constantly, while on heat.
  • When mixture becomes thick and mushy, add cardamom.
  • Mix well, and then take it off fire.
  • Allow the mixture to cool, gently stirring occasionally.
  • Use cookie moulds, or form the pedas with your hands into round patty.
  • Add pistachios and cardamom seeds and press a bit above each.
  • Take some of the above mix and press into mould.
  • When it has become set, invert and carefully remove from mould. The delicious sweet pedas are ready to be served.
