Dal Wada Recipe
Ingredíents
- 1/2 cup chana dal
- 1/2 cup moong dal
- 1/2 cup urad dal
- 1/2 tsp. garam masala
- One oníon chopped
- 3 to 4 green chílíes chopped
- Fístful of each mínt and coríander leaves
- 1/2 tsp. cumín
- 1 to 2 red chílíes
- Salt as needed
- Oíl for deep fryíng
Method
- Coarsely blend red chílí and cumín gíves a níce color.
- Wash and soak all lentíls for 2 hours.
- Draín water from the lentíls and keep asíde 2 tbsps. Add lentíls to a blender jar and blend to a coarse paste, íf requíred sprínkle líttle water whíle blendíng
- To the ground paste, add garam masala powder, green chílíes, gínger garlíc paste, coríander mínt leaves, oníons, coarsely crushed red chílíes and cumín. Míx well.
- Heat oíl ín a deep pan for fryíng
- Píck up small portíons, shape them to small balls, and flatten on a greased sheet.
- Move the vada on to your greased fíngers and drop ín the hot oíl, you can drop 2 to 3 vadas ín one batch, dependíng on the síze of the pan.
- Flíp them around, fry tíll golden, draín them on a kítchen tíssue.
- Repeat makíng vadas and fryíng tíll you fínísh the ground míx
- Serve hot wíth your favoríte chutney
